There is / There are
Конструкция говорит о наличии / существовании чего‑то в месте. Русскому «есть / имеется» часто соответствует именно она, а не to have.
- There is + ед. число или неисчисляемое: There is a book on the table. There is some milk.
- There are + мн. число: There are three chairs in the room.
