Образование и употребление

Подлежащее русского придаточного становится подлежащим английского предложения, а сказуемое превращается в инфинитив.

1.Перфектный инфинитив. Если действие инфинитива произошло раньше сказуемого, употребляется перфектный инфинитив to have + третья форма.
- They seem to have changed their minds. — Похоже, они передумали.
- The factory is reported to have closed. — Сообщают, что завод закрылся.
2.Равнозначная конструкция. Ту же мысль можно выразить безличным оборотом с it.
- It is believed that the painting is genuine. — Считают, что картина подлинная.

Частая ошибка. «He is said that he is talented» — смешение двух конструкций. Правильно: He is said to be talented или It is said that he is talented.
